Klinker Brick Winery
Old Vine Zinfandel
Late Spring and Summer is often the time of light, high acid, low alcohol rosés and white wines that are refreshing and delicate on the palate. Then there is the conundrum of what to drink when the day starts to cool off and it's time for a plate of BBQ ribs, steak or a juicy burger. Zinfandel is the answer for that peppered steak grilled to perfection. Zinfandel comes in many colors and styles but if you want to be smacked on the mouth with intense fruit and a load of alcohol, Old Ghost Zin is the wine for you. Perhaps the richest wine I've ever had on the lighter side of a Port.
Old Ghost is made in Lodi from a 100 year old vineyard. The old vines produce very low yielding fruit but incredible intensity. Enough to stand up to the richest BBQ sauce or a burger oozing with melted blue cheese. Enjoy a bottle with friends.
Queso Azul de Valdeón
Cow and Goat
$35 / pound
This is an intense cheese that is perfect with big, rich, red wines. The cheese is made from raw milk and is wrapped in chestnut or sycamore leaves. It is a cousin to the famed Spanish cheese Cabrales but the Valdeón is a bit more elegant.
