Erste + Neue
Sudtirol Alta Adige
This is not your mothers Pinot Grigio. This one is typical of the version made in the north of Italy and is perfect for imbibing while snacking on a midsummer's day. The wine is balanced on the palate, minerally and fruity. Itís a perfect complement to cheese, fruit, light or raw seafood.
Pinot Grigio often gets a bad rap along the lines of those straw bottled Chiantis. Yet Pinot Grigio can be so expressive and wonderful as a varietal. Great producers such as Erste + Neue make a fine example of this varietal that is made in that crisp clean style.

This cheese is tender, light and delicious. Rich, creamy and sweet, it comes from the combined milk of cows and sheep from northern Italy, around the province of Cuneo in Piemonte. Try it slathered over some grilled bread with olive oil and a glass of Pinot Grigio.
