I am constantly in pursuit of great white wines. Wines that can stand alone but also complement food wonderfully. They will elevate your experience. Jeff Fischer makes wines like this. His Habit label produces Grüner Veltliner, Sauvingon Blanc, and Chenin Blanc.
I own a few bottles of each of the whites he produces and they are all extraordinary, but I want to focus on the chenin blanc because I think its the cream of the crop. Itís a big heady yet elegant wine that is perfectly balanced with streaks of minerality, apricots, and the faint sweetness of an underripe strawberry. The Habit Chenin Blanc is a seriously good wine thatís refreshing and tastes of summer.
I enjoy it with grilled octopus and potato salad with green beans and olives. And some cheese is always appropriate.

A wonderful goatís milk cheese from the Loire valley. This natural soft ripening goatís milk cheese has lots of nutty tang, which is perfect in the spring with crisp white wines.
