One of Beaujolais' star producers, this Gamay from Morgon is imported by Kermit Lynch and is a fantastic wine. "Old world" practices are used, starting with vinfication. Old vines, no pesticides or herbicides, harvesting late, using only the best grapes with this rare bottling and no sulphur added. From 60 year old vines, this Morgon is one of the cleanest, purest examples of classic Beaujolais. It is an every day drinker, matching perfectly with French Alpine cheeses.
Abbaye de Tamie $35/lb
Abbaye de Tamie is a semi soft unpasteruized cows milk cheese from Savoie. It is a monastic cheese made by Cistercian monks at Tamie Abbey near Albertville, in the French Alps. It is similar to Reblochon: medium strong in flavor with a long nutty finish that lingers for minutes. Styled like Citeaux (a monastic cheese made in Beaune, Burgundy), Tamie is Savoie's version, so it is natural to match with red Burgundies. It is very hard to get!
Raisins on the Stem $5 for 8oz
Raisins on the stem, from Mojave, California are by far the best I have tasted...sweet, intense flavors from these large plump gems. Great for cheese boards and snacks...Enjoy!
